Drunkenness.—Joseph Danielson, for disorderly conduct while drunk, was flnei £1, in default seven days' hard labour. William Chalmers pleaded guilty to drunkenness and not guilty to wilfully exposing himself in Queen-st. The defence on the latter charge was that the accused was . too drunk at the time to realise what he was doing. Sub-Inspector Mitchell said nothing was known against the character of the accused. A fine of 10/ was inflicted on the first charge, and on the second accused was convicted and ordered to enter into a bond of £10 to he of good behaviour for six monthts. John Peter Evans was fined 5/ or 24 hours' hard labour for drunkenness. Dismissed.—A man named Wm. Geo. Grey, who did not appear, was charged with being found by night without lawful excuse on the premises of Mary Dowd. The evidence showed that the accused was found about one o'clock in the morning going into the hack of Mrs Dowd's premises. The Bench held that the evidence was not strong enough to convict upon and dismissed the case.
