The monthly meeting of the Huntiy Road Board was held in Mr Harris' hotel 'on Saturday, when there were present: Messrs J. P. Bailey (chairman), Collins, Harris, sen., Hubbard, and Conradi (clerk). , , H. Brooks' tender, as accepted by Messrs Bailey, Collins and Harris, for gravelling the road near Mr Moran'B farm, at 1/4 per yard, w;is ratified by the Board. On the motion or the Chairman, seconded by Mr Hubbard, it was resolved that a rate of 3d be made and levied. Mr Hubbard reported that £3 10/ would be a sufficient sum to pay Mr Wilklns for the work he had done on the Mangapiko Gorge Road. For the 200 yards of road work at Matahura Gorge, it was agreed to pay Mr James Smith at the rate of 6d a yard.
