The newly formed Gun Club holds I its opening- match on Saturday, lGthi inst., when "clay pigeons" will be used. The following- gentlemen have been elected to the committee: — Messrs Kernick, James Dobson, John Dobson, McCallum, Dunlop, Hill, and Brown. The Hospital trustees have failed to persuade Doctor Williams to reconsider -his resignation as house surgeon. General regret is expressed at the loss the district will suffer. During- the thirteen rears he has been at the Hospital. Dr. Williams has succeeded in bringing it to the front as a model institution and a credit to the district. His place will be hard to fill. Hospital Sunday collections resulted in the sum of £19 11/ being handed! over by the churches to the Building Fund, and in addition £10 17/11 was received from the Thames Bugby Union net proceeds of the ThamesOhinemuri match of sth August.
