Continuous light rain fell last night but a change of wind this morning improved matters, and the weather promises to be fine for the races. There is a good attendance. Hempic was scratched for the Stewards' Stakes and Flying Handicap, also Workman for the latter.
The results are
Stewards' Stakes: Sylvia Park, 1; Indian Shot, 2; The Miller, 3. A good race, won on the post. Time 1 44 1-5. Dividend £5.
First Hurdles: Splinter. 1; Pokomoko, 2; Dummy, 3. Won by a length and a-half. A good race. Time 4min. Dividend £3 17/.
Hack Hurdles. — Whangaroa, 1; Water Shot, 2; First Result, 3. Won easily. Time, 2.53 3-sths. Dividend,
