CYCLING SPORTS AT NAPIER.

NAPIER, Wednesday
The annual sports meeting of the Wanderers' Bicycle Club was held to-day, in Tine weather and in the presence of a large crowd of spectators. The racing was very good throughout. The following are the results of the principal events:— Handicap: H. Akers, Palmerston North, 1. Time, 2m 235. Hawke's Bay Amateur Championship, 1 mile: T. H. Stubbs, 1; T Tavlor, 2; T. Lucy, 3. Time, 2m 345.
Wanderers' Wheel Race, 2 miles: H. Alters, Palmerston North. 1; C. Catternach, Napier, _; J. Wingate, Palmerston North, .'!. Time, 4m 34 l-ss. Open District Championship, 1 mile: tJ. Sutherland, Chrlstrhurch, 1; A. C. Middleton, Duncdin. 2: A. R. Barker, Christchureh, 3. Time, 2m 23 2-ss. Ten-mile McLean Cup: J. Sutherland, l-laveloek, 1; T. Taylor, 2; Stubbs, 3. Time. 2Sm 12s. Licensed Victuallers' Plate, 5 miles: Bennett. Dannevirko, A. Ralston, Dunedin, and Sutherland, Christchureh, were a dead heat for first place. It was a splendid finish, the judges being unable to separate the placed men. Time, 12m 14 3-ss.
