WAVERLEY MINE.
AN IMPORTANT DISCOVERY.
What may prove to b<* an important discovery has been in.de recently in the Waverley Claim, Karangahake. A hitherto undiscovered lode has been found carrying good gold, and it is thougnt to be the lode sought for but never found by the early prospectors. These men found rich loose stone.but could never locate the reef. The lode new found has been trenched 30 feet en the surface, ancl opened up. Its size is two feet, and it carries good grid all the way. No doubt energetic measures will immediately be tfvken to prove th>* value of the discovery by having the lode intersected at a reasonable depth.
