WAIPA FOOTBALL.

(By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.)

HAMILTON, this day,

Mr P. O'Connor, of Kihikihi, lately presented a handsome banner to be competed for by teams representing Te Awamutu and 'Kihikihi. The match was played on the 17th and was drawn. A second game was played at Kihikihi on Saturday, when the home team defeated the visitors by 9 points to 7. Gordon, F. Corboy, and Short scored for Kihikihi, none of the tries being converted. Te Awamutu's score consisted of a beautiful penalty goal kicked by J. Crnickshank from the half-way flag, and a capital goal from the field by G. Bowden. The match caused no end of excitement, as keen rivalry exists between the two clubs. The teams were entertained at a banquet in the Alpha Hotel in the evening.
