FOOTBALL.
The following matches were played on Saturday afternoon:—
Takapuna 11. v. Hauraki 11. (at Coromandel.)—Takapuna won by 6 points to 3, Shaw and Davison scoring for Takapuna, and H. Gibbs scored a try for Hauraki. Mr Stephens acted as ieferee and gave every satisfaction. Home Bay v. Jervois. —Resulted in- a win for Home Bay by 7 points to 6. For Home Bay Carlaw scored a try and kicked a goal from the iield. True Blues v. Blue Stars.—The former won by 11 points to 3. Tries were scored by S. Harris, G. Nicholson and McCabe, the latter converting one of the tries Helping Hand v. Union Free Church.— The return match between Helping Hand Mission and Union Free Church took place at Mount Albert on Saturday, and resulted in an easy win for the former by 32 points (8 tries 4 goals) to nil. Tries were obtained by W. Doran 5, W. Tremain, A. Tremain and W. Buckley 1 each. Four tries were converted into goals by W. Tremain2, W. Doran 1, and J. Tyler 1. For the winners Sid Cook played a fine dashing game. Albany v. All Comers.—-Albany won by 18 points to 3: Tries were scored by Martin, 1; Buchanan, 2; A. Carbines, 1; Gladding, 1; A. Robinson, 1 ; McEwan scoring for the losers. Wanderers v. Britomart.—The former won by 10 points to nil. Tries were scored by A. Turtley and H. Jenkins, while D. McLennan kicked a goal from a mark. Rovers v. Federals.—This- match resulted in a win for Rovers by 8 points to nil.
Railway Workshops v. Maintenance Department!— The former won by 23 points to 6.
