MYSTERIOUS DEATH OF A WIDOW.

A Narrabri telegram of Tuesday states that the body of a woman was found in about two feet of water yesterday in a small lagoon near the Namoi River, in Dangar Village. The police recognised it as that of Mrs Davis, a widow, who had resided there for some 10 years, and who was last seen alive at eight o'clock on Sunday night by her 10-year-old son, talking to a man. There was a tightly tied handkerchief round her throat; and the features suggested strangulation. The whole affair is a mystery. An inquest is being held.
