A PARRAMATTA SENSATION.

On the morning of the 27th tilt, at Parramatta Robert Hunter, an old man, cut his throat in Marsd en-street, just outside the lock - up. He had called at the station and asked to be taken in charge. Constable McDowall told him to wait on the bench outside till he could be sent to the asylum. The old man, however, sharpened his pocket knife on the dwarf wall, and proceeded to-cut his throat. A woman passing by gave the alarm, and the constable went at once and took Hunter to the hospital opposite. He is expected to recover.
