A STRANGE SUICIDE.
A girl named Edith Coleman, aged l/, committed suicide at Yatala, on the 30th ult., under peculiar circumstances, at her parents' residence. She visited Adelaide with her mother on that afternoon, and desired to buy some material to make a blouse. Her 'mother refused her request, whereupon the girl became very angry and left her mother, returning _ home in the same train, but in a different compartment. At about 7 o'clock in the evening another daughter told Mrs Coleman that Edith had taken poison. A doctor was sent for and emetics administered, but without avail, the unfortunate girl dying in convulsions about three hours later. She had evidently purchased strychnine while on her way home, and had there taken a quantity. A verdict of suicide was returned at the inquest.
