REPORTED GOLD FIND AT TAUPO,
The "Hot Lakes Chronicle" states:— "It i 3 reported thab tho natives who have been prospecting near Lake Taupo have found payable gold near Mototere, about 25 milea from the Taupo township. The land is owned by Rawere Merehape and othera. Some stone senb for a9*ay haa gone over four ounces to the ton, besides a proportion of silver. Gold is also reported to have been found ab Tauranga Taupo, about 30 miles diatanb in the same direction, viz., towards Tokaanu." WALLACE PROPRIETARY. Mr A. B. Millar recently received a cable from London stating that the Waitara claim had been successfully floated. On Dec. 18 he received a second cable confirming the purchase of a large amount of shares and al»o etating thab ample working capital had been arranged for. The properties interested are the Waitara, Waitara Extended, and City of Durham at Te Aroha. The English Company will be known as tho Wallace Proprietary.
