IMPLEMENTS AND VEHICLES.
Messrs T. and S. Morrin and Co.'s large display of farm implements and harvesting machinery is evidence cf the firm's deßire to keep abreast of the requirements of tbe district. Their exhibits should attract all interested in agricultural pursuits. A prominent feature is an as«ortmonb of the celebrated Oliver ploughs, varying in size from a light one-borae vineyard to a large double furrow gang plough. Amongst tha collection are ploughs suitable for all classes of vrorli and conditions of soil. The Oliver is _co well and favourably known thai) a Retailed description is unnecessary. Tho Farmer a Favourite combined seed and manure drill is aptly named, and hag thoroughly established itself. It is mounted on two high wheels and has two large hoppers for seed and manure with a smaller box for turnip and other small saods. It drills the ground and sows the seed and manure ab the same time. By a simple device, the old BVstem of nameroaa change whoela has been dispensed with. On the Favourite only two small cogwheeb are required ; ib is co constructed that) seeds of any size or description are sown with regularity in any required quantity. Tho fertilising force lead is eminently suited for fine or coarse manures. The Hornsby reaper and binder (open back) retains its faithful workmanship and ganerai excellency. Its triumphs at tbe Royal Agricultural Show ot England in 1893 will nob readily be forgotten. Tho Paragon combined reaper and mower, also built by Messrs Horneby and Son, ia strength and simplicity combined in as small and light, a compass as possible. The reaping attachments can be removed or attached in a few minutes. Tho Ironage cultivator or horse hoa is light) and thoroughly elective, also very rigid iv construction and durable. In plain disc, cubaway, spading and tine barrows, bho firm has ample variety for purchasers to select from. The samo remarks may also apply to their assortment of chafl'cubters, cornabollerg, hand seed drills, lifb aud force aud spraying pumps, etc. Messrs E. Porter aud Co. are bo tho front with ono of the largest displays ot agricultural implements. Their display of the John Deere Compaoy'« ploughs is unique, and comprise twelve different kiude. The Vineyard ia suited for orchards. The Texas Ranger series, 7in to 12in cub, are adapted to the wants of this part of the country. The G.P., or general purpose series, will plough both sod and gtubble. There are also one, two and three furrow ploughs, some have seat attachment for riding, all ara fitted with general purpose mould boards universal swivel coultersl, with anfcifuction boxing and with patent steel shares. The Deare zigzag lever harrow ia a now improvement with tooth adjustment) for any depth, or for turning tho tooth so thai) differonfe cutting edges may be preaontorl to the fronb. The range of the lever will give the teeth any angle, forward, backward, or horizontal. Beside tbe Deero plough, there aro also the Garden, City, Clipper, Hornsby, single and double wheel, and Corbebt's Champion digging plough. Another novelty ia tha Hallock potato digger, which ia simplicity itself. Other novelties also comprise Hornsby draining ploughs, the colonial manufactured now German pattern two-furrow plough, steel spading harrows, and hand power ehoep shearing machines, also Hornsby reaping and mowing machines. In dairy and general machinery wenotice theNewEradiscchurn, .butter workers, curd cutters, hand power separators'. There is a large assortment of Planet Junior implements, both for hand and horse power. The Planet Junior horse hoe and cultivator with latest improved depth regulator, which can bo worked with wheel lover while the home is in motion, in a fine exhibit. Tbe same implement can be usad for furrowing or earthing up potatoes by reveraing the hoe. The steel Planet Junior riding harrow aad cultivator mounted on wheels with 2^in tread, is light, bub at the same time strong. Altogether Messrs Porter and Co.'aexhibib is up-to-date and worthy of tbe firm.
