ROAD BOARD ELECTIONS.
Mangere.—An election for two members of tho Mangere Road Board took place yesterday. Tlio following is the result of the poll:-M. M. Kirkbride, 86; W. L. Henwood, 55; S. Gooseman, 43; J. Robertson, 25. The two first-named were elected. Mr E. Hall acted as Returning Office?*
Mount Albert.—The election of two memliera te till the vacancies in the Mount Alherb Road Board was held yesterday in the Morningside public schoolroom, the voting being as under : — John Bouskill, 168; W. H. Martin. 166 ; George Fowlds, 164; Wesley Spragg, 156. The two firstmentioned candidates were, therefore, elected. The extraordinary election, caused by the retirement of Mr Charles Kayes, resulted in Mr Edward Sewell being elected unopposed to fill the vacancy.
Otabuhu.—The annual meeting of the Otahuhu Road Board was held in the Public Hall lasb night. MrSturges occupied the chair. There were few ratepayers present. The reporb and balance-sheet was read and adopted. It showed a debit balance of £50 3s 7d. The total receipts were £362 la 6d and the expenditure £412 5s Id. Thß following resolution was passed with reference to the Local Government Bill:—"Thab this meeting of ratepayers is of opinion thab the presenb form of local governmenb by Road Boards is best euited to this district."
