Drunkenness.—Three firßt offenders were fined 5s and cosbs and two dismissed with a caution. John Leonard, for his second offence within six monbhs, was fined 10s or in defaulb 48 hours' imprisonment Bridgeb Wesboui, charged wibh being an habibual drunkard, waß sentenced bo one monbh's imprisonment wibh hard labour. Illegally on Pkemises.—Michael Neill, a middle-aged man, charged wibh being found by nighb withoub lawful excuse on bhe premises of Messrs William Gunson and Co., Customs-street, was sentenced to bhree months' imprisonmenb in Monnb Eden Gaol.
Alleged Larceny.—Jane Whelan was charged with having stolen on the nighb of Thuraday, the 2nd of August, four towels, one saucepan, and two tomahawks, of the total value of 10s, from the Prince Arthur Hotel in Wellesley-streeb.—Mr Brassey appeared for the defendanb and Sergeanb Gamble prosecubed. ■—• Thomas Fitch and Thomas Wood, employed as cooks in the Prince Arthur Hotel, gave evidence, bub nob being able bo identify bhe bowels produced, the case was dismissed.
