Napier, bhis day. Major Scully for many years in charge of bhe Hawke's Bay police diebricb, is dead. The deceased came bo the colony wibh bhe 65th foot regimenb, in which he served for 21 years, being subsequently appointed Sergeanb-Major in the Armed Constabulary and senb to Napier in 1862. His death was due to a breakup of the system, broughb on by a neglected abback of influenza. He was aged 75.
