m MINING COMPANIES BILL. (Br TELECRAPH.—PARLIAMENTARY REPORTER.) Wellington, this day. The Mining Companiea Bill, which Mr Cadman intends tointroduce.isa measure consolidating all previous mining Acts. There will be in ib several amendments. Of these, the moat important of which ia a provision for mining companies being enabled to have their affairs wound up by tbo Official Assignee, instead of by liquidators appointed by the shareholders. This provision has been rendered desirable on account of many complaints that have been made of the present method of winding up mining companies. HARBOURS ACT AMENDMENT BILL. Mr Ward's Harbour Act Amendment Bill will limib the power of Harbaur Boards to overdraw their accounts to the extent of one year's revenue. The Prescriptive Law (Light) Amendment Bill is introduced to repeal the law existing from the time of George 111., by which the owner of a houae conld, under certain conditions, prevent another person erecting buildioga on an adjacent piece of ground so as to interfere with the accession of light to the former's property. DEBTS RECOVERY BILL. The Debts Recovery Limitation Bill of the Premier proposes to reduce the period within which debts can be recovered at law from six to three years. IMPRISONMENT FOR DEBT. The Imprisonment for Debb Abolition Bill will *bo the same as last year's measure. < ELECTORAL ACT AMENDMENT. The Electoral Acb Amendment Bill is designed bo make clear certain points in the Acb of last session which have given rise bo differenb inberpretations. THE WAITEMATA ELECTION. Ministers, are adviaed there is no necessity to provide againßb a similar contingency to thab which aroae over the Waitemata vacancy caußed by Mr Palmer's successful election petition, as the existing law is sufficient.
