The Secretary of the Bush workers' Union, replying bo a letter conveying the decision Of the Paatoralists' Council, concludes thus, " You will pardon ua if we say that you have been arrogant and stiff-necked instead of being merciful, aa you think you are strong. You have acted the part of Oriental despots. Aa a last word we express our pain and disappointment ab your refusal to aerree to a conference and we now place at your door there.ponsibility for the coming struggle."

Tho Pastoralists' Council, in reply bo bho requeab of bho Intercolonial Conference of Australian Bush Unions for a conference to discuaa the new ahearing agreemenb, hua, after full consideration with the Pastorali-t, Unions of New Soubh Wales, Victoria, and South Australia, unanimously decided that ib ia not necessary to hold a conference, and it regrets that workers should threaten to strike, which would only intensify the present condition of things. Tho Council added that such action ia nob warranted by the presont shearing rate? or the conditions under which employees are asked to work.
Lorena, recently Presidenb of tho rebel government in Brazil, has been executed. Stoddart has asked Richardson, bhe Surrey bowler, bo join a team for Australia.
