JUBILEE KINDERGARTEN.

The Jubilee Kindergarten held their annual meeting yesterday afternoon, when a fair number of ladies and gentlemen interested in the work of the school were presonb. The Hon. Colonel Haultain occupied the chair. Before the business of the meeting was proceeded wich tho children attending the school were assembled in the room and put through their exercises by their teacher, Mist* Hastie, and were then dismissed. The balance sheet was read by the Secretary, Mrs PoiUon, and showed a balance in hand of £29 8s sd. The annual report of the Kindergarten and Creche, ! which waa also read, stated that the attendance during the year ranged between 40 and 50, and that from 22 to 25 infants were received into the Creche every week. During the past year 875 infants have been admitted into the institution. On the motion of the Rev.G. Mac Murray seconded by the Rev. L. Fitzgerald, it was decided to have the report printed and circulated under the direction of the Committee. It was also agreed, on the motion of Mr Withy, secouded by the Bey. S. F. Prior,. "That it. be the object of all who have the interesa of the rising generatioi/at heart, to strive to secure tor the infant children of our city the Christian instruction and the sheltering care provided by the Jubilee Kindergarten and all similar institutions." The t olio wine ladies and gentlemen were then elected officers for the ensuing year: —Mrs Schnrfckenberg, President; Mrs Clark, Secretary and Treasurer; Mesdames Dilworth, Lennox, Kenderdine, Briggs, Wigmore, Williams, Ashton, D. Kempt, Misses l-'hilson and Chambers, Committee. ►Resolutions were also passed returning thanks to the Mayor and Councillors for the continual use of the building, to tho auditors, to the proprietors of the " Herald " and Star, DrR. Kenderdine and Lawry, and to all contributors to the institution.

The meeting was closed by the Benediction by the Rev. G. Mao Murray, and a vote of thanks to the chair.
