AUCKLAND TROTTING CLU3 SUMMER MEETING;
TO-MORROW'S RACING.
The Summer Meebing of bhe Auckland Trotbing Club which commences bo-mor-row promises to be the mosb successful gathering yob" held by the Club. The management have wisely bimed bhe first race to start at 2 o'clock, so thab all business people may have ample bime to get oub for bhe firsb race. A tirsb class band will be in abtendance, and evory possible arrangement has been made for tho comfort and convoniepco of the Club's patrons. Tho Tramway Company has arranged „to run care righb to the course every fow minutes during bhe afbernoon. The following are my anbicipabions for the various evenbs on bhe programme :— -I j Maiden Pony Rack, one mile.— I like Aeab Coquette 11., Puketo and Florrie in the order wribben. The Maiden Trot (in saddle), bwo miles, has a good big field from which bo selecb. I hear thab Edwards has gob Mocking Bird in his stable. This inueb entitle her to respect and she may win. Of tho others I like Corina and bhe scrabch horse Otakeho (who hails from Wanganui, and has been bhe winner of a double in Chrisbchurch), The important race of the day is the Pony Cup'of 150sovs, one mile. This is a splendid prize for tbe liliputians, and should prove a close race. La Grippe, tho! top weight (lOab lib), ib is stated, will strip tho fittest pony on the ground, and has on more than one occasion demonstrated that she is an exceptionally good one. Little Jane (9sb) will take a power of beating. She is a mare that comes at the righb end of bhe journey and is, I hear, in bhe pink of condibion. Lady May, Bsb 121b, is reporbed offcolour. If bhab be bbc case I will nob stand her as she will need to bo well to have a show. The Dove, 7sb 121b, is a mare for which I havo a greab liking. She is generally fractious at the post, and her chances have been to a great extent/ spoilt in the pasb bhrough bhe races being very shorb. She will, however, have moro bime bo gob her legs under her this time. Vampire, if as well as when he started in last year's Cup, on which occasion he ran third, has been given a great chance and will have to be disposed of in the last furlongbeforeanythingelsecan win. Helena's weighb will favour her. Pukebe (7ab 51b) I look upon as being bhe one mosb likely bo effect a surprise. She is a mare bred well enough to win any pony race, being a halfsister to Lady Onslow. To selecb bhreo I will take Little Jane, The Dove and Vampire, to finish in the order named, with Pukehe as the best oubsider. Thb Maiden Hurdles, 1 mile, should finish—Effie, Libtle Jane, Tkflt'y, but if Libble Jane jump well, she will finish in fronb. The Telephone Handicap, 4 furlongs, should be a good race. I fancy La Grippe. The Maiden Trot (in harness) 2 miles will probably resulb in Spreydon Lad or Corina winning. The December Handicap, 6_ furlongs, is the lasb ovenb. Ib will to a greab extenb depend on previous running. Lady May or Gillie may win if bhey start. Hippona.
