Dunedin, this day. The annual meeting of the Presbyterian Synod was opened last evening. Dr. Dunlop, the Moderator, delivered an address dealing with bhe rationalistic tone of thought broughb aboub by the material progress of the world. He thoughb it was the urgent duty of tbe Church to stem this tendency. The Moderator of the Presbyterian Assembly was welcomed. Ib wa3 announced that the sustentation dividend was £206 9s 6d for the whole year. The ref-&o*t>j3o business was formal.
