BOARD OF EDUCATION
A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Board of Education was held yesterday morning. Present: Mr R. Udy (Chairman) and Messrs Luke, Muir, Lambe. Leave oe Absence.—Mr Worthington, bead-master of. Wellealey-street school, was granted leave of absence from the lsb November to December 22nd. Dr. Haines stated that Mr Worthington was physically and mentally depressed, and he felt quite unfib bo do justice to his duties. If ho made the attempt now ib would probably result in a complete break down. Freehand and Model Drawing.—The Secretary of the Auckland Society of Arts wrote thab bhe Society was prepared to hold an examination of the pupils of the schools in freehand and model drawing on tho same lines a8 lasb year.—The offer was accepbed. _________________________
