THE PREMIER AT STRATFORD.
AN ENTHUSIASTIC RECEPTION.

Stratford, this day. The Hon. Mr Seddon arrived here by the mail train lasb night, and was meb at the station by bhe Town Board and an immense crowd, tie was driven bo the Stratford Hotel, where he was entertained at dinner by the Chairman of tho Town Board, with the Chairman of the County Council and councillors. An address of welcome was read by the Town Clerk. The Premier then proceeded to the Town Hall, which was densely packed, the audience, which included many ladies, heartily cheering Mr Seddon and party as they entered. The Premier's speoch was on general subjects, nearly all of which were referred bo in previous addresses as already sketched. He intimated thab the Governmenb proposed bo deal wibh bhe quesbion of local Governmenb nexb session, and ib was also inbended bo arrange to enable Crown tenants to borrow on their holdings. A vote of thanks and confidence in the Governmenb was carried almosb unanimously, only four hands being held up in favour of an amendmenb of bbanks only.
