Cambridge, Monday, BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING.

The adjourned meeting of the Council was hold on Friday. The Waikato Farmers' Club was allowed the usa of the Government paddock on the 27th inst., for their annual stallion parade therein. Air Jamos Hally wrote tendering his resignation as a member of the Council, owing to some aspersions made by certain individuals during the late elections, as to hie supporting the Oddfellows Hall as against the Public Hall. The Mayor a»d the whole of the Councillors present expressed deep repreb that Mr Hally should have thought it necessary to notice such caitunnies, and a deputation was appointed to wait upon him and dndeavour to induce him to withdraw his resignation. I may say the deputation was unsuccessful, but Mr Hally consented to contest his seat again, and it is a thousand to one he will be returned unopposed. Ab date, the overdraft stood at £124 8a lid. Accounts amounting to £44 7s 2il were passed for payment. The Town Clerk was instructed to place all sections of which he knew the Crown grant had not been lifted in the hands of the Public Trustee, together with the unclaimed lands, and thus make the reputed owners prove thoir title. The Mayor reported ho had been unable to induce the Crown Lands Commissioner to reciassify and offer for sale Crown lands within the borough, bub he would shortly 'oiler some of them for leasing purposes.

KOA.D BOARD MEETINGS,

Tho Taotaoroa Road Board mot ab Cam' bridge on Saturday. Ie was resolved to ask the Waitoa Road Board to continue this road as far as Maungakawa, and the Chairman (Mr S. Seddon) was deputed to wait upon Mrs Thornton and endeavour to get her to give the land for the road.

The Cambridge Road Board meb on Saturday. Tho clerk reported the County Council had constituted tho Tamabere Board a contributing body to the maintenance of the Narrows Bridpro over tho Waikato, as requested by tho Board.
