Wellington', this day. I.v opening the fine Arts Exhibition, the Governor referral to the death of Mr Levin in the following words : —" In Mr Levin, thia academy, like all other objocts of public interest in New Zealand, have lost a great friend. It was a beautiful lifo fchab came to a close last week, and if ona like myself, who had only mado tho acquaintance of Mr Levin during tha past year could feel such a genuine and heartfelt regret as I do at hia los?, what must bo the feelings of those who have known him so long. His wae a beautiful life. Be spent his time in doing what good he could for hia fellow creatures. He has left a noble examplo for us to try to follow. I feel euro that such a life as bis must- have a good effect on thoee who knew him during bis life,"
