THE STEEPLECHASE.
Steeplechase of about 3. miles. Rt lb st lb Fishmonger .. 10 3 Rewarewa 9 8 Ingarangi.. .. io 7 Hune "9 7 Tiie Colonel ..10 7 (.'banco '.' "97 Commotion .. 10 0 Tommy '17 .. ..9io Ken.. :; ;; 9 7 Kate .. ..9 10 " ' The Steeplechase is run on Tuesday Ingarangi would be the safest of the lot to trust in this race if he was fib and well. Fishmonger reads well at 10.3. He hr i3 shown such good form over tho little sticks thab he must bo dangerous, despite the (act, that he is not partial to the country over which the race is run. 1 don't think The Colonel can last out the journey, but Commotion's credentials are sufficient for me to think he has an excellent chance of winning. Chance is a vastly-improved animal, and may get home, while tho stable mates Euno and Kate will not be stopped on the score of weight. Both mares have shown fair form over country, and I shall pick the selected, with Commotion and Fishmonger to supoly the placed division. My particular fancy is Fishmonger. [It transpires that the jumper Commotion has not yet arrived. Rumour says ho will not be brought up to fulfil bis entracjomenb in the Steeplechase.]
