PERSONAL.
Lord Onslow, in reply to the Christchurch City Council's expressions of regret ab his resignation, says he hopes the resignation of his official position will.afford him an opportunity of showing his appreciation of the hearty reception which has been accorded him ever since he first arrived in New Zealand, and his interest in all that concerns the prosperity and happiness of the people of New Zealand. His Worship the Mayor (Mr J. H. Upton) has received a telegram from His Excellency the Governor stating that he will arrive in Auckland on Wednesday, February 17th, and will leave by the Mararoa on the 23rd.
A very pleasing recognition for valuable services rendered was made on Dec. 16 at the close of the ordinary meeting of the members of Court Zealandia, A.0.F., Bro. P.D.C.E. W. E. B. Moore, who is a member of the Court, has just completed his term of office as D.C.R. of the Order, and to mark the ability and courtesy shown by him during ' a very trying tenure, he was presented with a handsome marble clock, suitably inscribed. Bro. Garratt also decorated Bro. Moore with a P.D.C. R.s ribbon.
