Messrs Alfred Btjckland and Son reports sales as follows at Remuera yesterday:—Dairy cows wero yarded in usual number, and of better than average quality; nil good animals near their calvine brought from £5 to £6103 each. Store cattle of all classes sold fresly at full values. Fat cattle: Short of usual number— 215 yarded—advanced in price fully Is the 1001b; prices for steers ruled from 16s to 18s; cows. 13a to 15s the 1001b. Fat sheep : In usual number— 976 yarded—were dull of sale, at last week's values: and lambs wero lower in price, 2s to 3s each. Pigs: In short supply, were no better worth. Calves: Short of requirements—36 sold —were at twice their usual price.
Messrs Hunter and Nolast's, Weekly- Bβpokt.—Horse feed, grain, seeds, &c.: A good de:il of business has been done in grain, without noteworthy alteration in value, except in maize, which has a downward tendency. The demand for food has been steady and supply ample. We quote : Oats, Is 9d to 2s Id ; maize, old, 2s 6d to 2s Sd; barley, 3s to 3s Id ; wheat, 3s 9d to Is ; bran, £1 5s to £4 103 per ton; oaton chaff, £2 10a to £2155. Horses have continued in steady demand at fully the previous week's values, and an increased number found purchasers. Quite a usual number were submitted by auction at the Durham Yards on Tuesday. Kidding was brisker and most of the lots wore cleared. We quote : Hacks, £4 5s to £812s 6d: "tight-harness and medium draught. £510s to £12 17s 6d ; heavy draught, £3 5s to £18. Wool, hides, skins, tallow, etc.: There has existed a good demand. Average qualities rveve pitched at the Durham Yards on Friday. We quote : Stout ox hides. 4d to 5Jd ; medium, 3d to 3 'd: steer and cow, lid to 3}d; calfskins, 4d to Vi& per lb; sheepskins, butchers', 2s 8d to 4a 9d each; country sfcius. 10d to 4s 4d each ; crossbred wool, 7d per 11); cotter fleeces, 5d per lb; pieces, ljd to 3d; lambawool, CJd to 6£d per lb. Cattle: Very few storea have been brought forward, but a good many dairy cows found ready purchasers at prices in favour of the vendor. The Nowmarket Yards were fairly filled with dairy and fat stock on Tuesday, but very few stores wero penned. Fat beasts were keenly competed _ for, and there was an upward tendency in value. Dairies were also in favour of the vendor. Sonio avernsres of fat steers were : £7 ss. £7 0s 6d &1 £t 12s 3d, £6 2s 9d, £6. £5 3s 9d ; cows, £5 Bs'ifia 15s £319s 6(1. £3 17a 6a, £3145, £3 12s, £3 7s' !id Sheep: There was a eood muster at \ T owtnarket on Tuesday. Wethers sold at Irom 12s 3d to ISs 3d; ewes. 103 9d to 15s ; lambs. 8s 6d to 12a 6d. Pigs, scarce; sold for 2}d to 3d per lb, live weight.
