CO-OPERATIVE COAL MINING.

(BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.)

Brunnerton, February 9. At a meeting of tho Miners' Association to-day the lease of Jones, of Mokau, to the Association was submitted and favourably received, and a Committee was appointed to draw out & prospectus and urge certain amendmenbs in the draft of the lease. These alterations refer principally to the surface rights. There seems to be an idea that With a full annual output of 50,000 tons at ls royalty per ton, equal to £2,500 yearly, the Company should have the rierht of pasturage and be better protected in timber rights. Tho Committee have met, and, in conjunction with Mr Guinness, solicitor, acting for them, will communicate with the leasors. The prospectus will be issued at an early date.
