We have been shown an enormous potato resembling- the Oamaru variety, grown on the property of Mr Wra.Hunter. of Ohaupo, and brought to this ofiice bj r Mr J. Fleming. The monster potato weighs 41b soz, and is perfectly sound. It is really a handsome specimen of what was a splendid crop, and bears ample testimony to the fertility of the soil from which it was obtained,

Four feet of the reef wa3 ■ broken down on Saturday, v/hen colours of gold were seen freely^ Ten pounds of picked stone was obtained from the reef in the rise last Saturday, In the second stope, Manchester section, colours of gold are seen in the quartz. _
