FOUNDERING OF A STEAMER-

London, April 22. A steamer named the Denmark, carrying emigrants, met with an accident when Soo miles off Newfoundland. The machinery became disabled owing to an explosion in the machine room, during which the engineer was killed. The Missouri took the vessel in tow, but before she could get her into a port of safety the hitter foundered. % London, April 21.

The English ship Missouri being unable to tow the ■ disabled Danish emigrant vessel into port, jettisoned her cargo, in order to make room for the 700 emigrants, whom she conveyed safely to Azores.
