Hawkka, this day. A verdict of "Temporary insanity " was returned at the inquest on Quinn. Saved From Drowniug. A .Wellington man named James Kirk was found struggling in the water Inst night, bub was rescued in time. Ho had not long arrived from Melbourne, and being unable to get employment, grew very Despondent, and threatened to make away with himself. He was brought up at tho Court this morning, but nothing new was elicited except that he had reiterated his intention of committing euicido after being taken out of the water. He was remanded.

John Bennett has been committed for trial on tho charge of stabbing a shipmate on tho Cingalese ou Sunday.
