The Dunedin Blasting Accident.

Legal Manslaughter by the Corporation.

Dunedin, Friday. The inquest in the blasting accident was concluded to-day, when the jury returned a verdict that Mrs Finch came to her death by a stone projected by a blast fired on the 17th ; that the said blast was unskilfully plannod and overcharged, and that proper and safe appliances were not provided by the Corporation. The coroner said it was a verdict of manslaughter, but the jury said they could not alter it, except it might be to add, " Consequently we consider the Corporation liable." The coroner said they could not find a verdict of felony against a Corporation, but the jury again decided they could not alter the verdict.
