Outrngo on a Little Girl,

Some sensation was caused a short time ago

by tho kidnapping of two very young children residing in WakelioUl-street, and their subsequent ill-treatment by a girl in her teens. Another case of a very similar nature has now occurred, and has causod some excitement'amongst persons living in the vicinity of the place where theafliiirliappon'od. Tlio victim in this instance is alittlo girl, aged two years, daughter of Mr Holland, plumber, Grey-street. So far as has since been ascertained, she was playing on the door-step with another child of four years, when a girl, described as being about fourteen, accosted them and invited them to go for a walk. Tho littlo ones consontod and departed, without the knowledgo of Mrs Holland, She did not miss her child for some time, but immediately her disappearanco was noticed the mother becamo alarmed. Still she did notroturn, and Mrs Holland set out in search, with all her foavs for the safety of tho truant fully aroused. She had only gono a few yards, howover, when she mot tho little ones returning together. They told how they had been taken away to Vincent-street by a big girl and punished. Mrs Holland then discovered that her child had been most cruelly beaten, so cruelly, in fact, that blood was oozing from bruises on her hands. Subsequent examination disclosed that her body was " black and bluo" with the marks of ill-usago. Mr and Mrs Holland wero naturally indignant at tho inhuman outrage, and reported the matter to a police constable, but nothing further would appear to havo been dono in tho matter. It is desirable in tho interests of public safety that a full inquiry should bo mado with a view of discovering the perpetrator.
