•Consols remain at 1022- Bank rate pf discount continues at 3 per cent. The market rate has declined to 2g. Total reserve of notes and bullion in tbe Bank of England, £11,700,000, a reduction of £1,300,0U0 during the week. The proportion of rtserve to liabilities is 34 per cent, Now Zealand securities are at last quotation.

The market for colonial breadstufl's continues dull at the following prices : -Adelaide wheat, ex warehouse, 50s; New Zealand wheat, ex warehouse, 45s to 49s ; Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, 345. Australian tallow is firm at last quotation. Best beef, 42s 6d; best nfctton, 44s 6d. The, market for Australian hides is dull.

An attempt was made to float the Austral at the Ifitzroy Dock at spring tide this morning, but without success, owing to tbe insufficient depth of water. It is probable the vessel will proceed direct to London about the end of May,
