THE HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
The adjourned meeting of this Society took place this afternoon at the Museum Buildings. Mr Barstow presided, and there were also present: Messrs. T. Macffarlane, Morrin, Isaacs, Dr. Purchas, &c. | COMMITTEE'S REPORT. The Committee appointed to frame rules and bye-laws delivered their report, which was adopted, with the exception of bye-law 5, which was altered to the following :— " That the Society cannot award more than one prize to nurserymen in one class." 'i he original bye-law was : " Nurserymen shall not be allowed to compete for prizes, but may exhibit." SCHEDULE OF PRIZES, A very liberal schedule of prizes had been arranged^ ranging from 30s downwards^ The list was adopted. It was decided to hold the flower show on Friday and Saturday, the 19th and 20th March, 1880. The place where [the show is to be held is not yet decided.
