AUCKLAND STEAMSHIP COMPANY.
The ordinary general meeting o£ the shareholders of the Auckland Steamship Company (Limited) was hold at the oilice of Captain Daldy, Queen-street, to-day. Mr Loddcr, the Manager, having read the report and balance-sheet, for the half-year ending July 31st, 1879 (and which is only circulated among the shareholders), It was proposed by Captain Daldy, and seconded l>y Mr G. S. Killing, that the report and balance-sheet be adopted. But the Directors did not think it wise to recommend the payment of a dividend for the half-year. Carried. Mr Kissling and Captain Daldy being the retiring Directors, it was proposed by Mr T). H. McKcnzic and seconded by Mr Thus. Morrin that they be re-elected. Carried. Cn the motion of Captain Daldy, seconded by Mr Lodder, Mr Johu Buchanan was reelected auditor for the ensuing year. Carried. Mr Smith, representing the New Zealand Insurance Company, proposed, and Mr A. B. Donald seconded, that the report and balance-sheet bo printed for circulation among the shareholders only. Afrer a vote of thanks to Captain Daldy, the chairman, the meeting terminated. A telegram from another source referring to the above meeting gave this version of it: A large mooting to hear Mr Daraavillo was held at Whangarei last night. He is getting on very well, and Colbcck is losing ground fast.
