(From our own Correspondent.) This day,

The British Emperor arrived from London yesterday, after a passage of 98 days. She had a good run to the Equator, but there encountered winds from due south, and had a difficulty in working clear of the Brazilian coast. The passage was remarkable for the absence of S.E. trades, and there were no steady westerly winds until past the Cape, and in long. 34* E. ; then there was a good run to Hewia with occasional severe westerly gales, thence moderate weather until close up with New Zealand, when a few days' gales from the north to west were met, Made the first land fall on the East Coast, and arrived on Sunday afternoon.
