GISBORNE.
(From our own Correspondent.) This day,
Abolition Meeting.
An influential meeting has been held, to obtain an expression of opinion regarding abolition. The following resolution was passed: "That this meeting cordially approves of the Abolition and Local Government Bill brought in by the Government, and would urge that both measures be carried through all its stages this session." A telegram was sent to the Ministry stating the result.
