RACE BETWEEN THE GALATEA AND THE RIPPLE.
A sailing- match between these two favourite yachts took place this morning for £10 a side, Mr. Fletcher acting as starter and umpire. The yachts left the wharf at one o'clock, and at two p.m., were close down to the buoy off Drunken Bay, the Ripple being considerably ahead, although the Galatea was about half-a-mile to windward. The boats are now running home, and the result is looked for with interest.
