AKAROA COUNTY TAKES DELIVERY New Road Making Unit Commences Work

The Akavoa County Council's new Austin-Western power grader has been delivered to the council by Messrs Booth Mac Donald and Co. and has commenced work on the county roaus. This new road machinery unit was purchased for £2333 and has angle dozer and scarifier attachments which will shift slips or snow off roads as well as providing rapid road reformation. It was inspected yesterday at Duvauchelle by Council members while in operation and satisfaction was expressed with the efficiency of the machine. The rapid reconditioring of bad stretches of road are possible with this powerful unit. In shifting a slip at French Farm yesterday three yards of spoil were shifted i,i one move. The Council decided yesterday to order two extra sets of grader blades and one set of scarify!! g tines for the new grader.
