FINAL MEETING OF AKAROA BRANCH On Tuesday ovening Mr Johnson, tutor 'ol th . CanV.ti :y Branch of the Workers Educational Association, visited Akaroa and gave a very interesting lecture to the members of the local branch on G. B. Shaw. The members met at Mrs Maslin's residence in Ayiiaer street. At the conclusion Mr Johnson was accorded a very hearty vote of thanks. This concluded the session for 1939. The members provided a very enjoyable supper. During the evening on behalf of the Akaroa branch, Mrs Dalbeth presented Mrs Maslin with a box of handkerchiefs in recognition of her work as leader and her kindness in extending hospitality at the meetings Those present, were Mr Johnson (tutor), Mesda:i,es Maslin, Aitclunson, Lowry, C. U. Arnold, C. D. Sealey, C. Dalbeth, Misses A. Brocheiie, E. Keegan, L. Vangioni and B. D. Jacobson.
