AKAROA COUNTY RACING CLUB.

A gena al meeting of this Club was held on Saturday night, at the Lake Foreyth Hotel. Present—Meesre H. D, Buchanan (Chairman), R. Latter, S. Nutt, O. Bradley, M. Knight, J. Buchanan, Parkinson (2), Quealy, Jacobaon and G. Robinson. MINUTKS. The minutes of the prior general meeting were read and confirmed, and apologies were received for the absence of Messrs J. Montgomery, E. E. Lelievre and R. Paton. ACCOUNTS. Accounts, viz., Messrs Collins and Harman, plan of Grand Stand, etc., £b 5s ; paint for Stand. Mascn. Struthera, £7 ss; ■•Times" and " Prese," ad.ertising, 15s; and painting Stand, £10 10s, were pissed for piytmnt. NOTICES OF MOriON. Mr H. D. Buchar.an moved I he notice of motioD, Btanding in his name—That all honorary unpaid officers of the Club be entitled to act as Stewards, and that any part of any resolution antagonistic to this be rescinded.—which was seconded by Mr R Latter and carried unanimously. Mr Knight moved the notice of motion in his name—That the Club will not recognise leased horses as the bona fide property of residents in the district. He thought that, otherwise, crack horses might be leased by residents and brought down and utterly destroy the enauces of local horses, Seconded by the Chairman and carried. Mr Bradley moved the notice of motion standing in his name—That in future the Racing District comprise tho two Counties of Akaroa and Mount Herbert and the two Boroughs of Lyttelton and Akaroa. There had been no subscriptions from the other of tlie district near Leeston and there had been trouble every year with some horse or other. Mr R. Latter said if Mr Bradley could see his way to making the Canal the boundary, he would agree ; but confining the district strictly to the Counties, cut off Motukarara from whence came many of their trotting hones. Mr Bradley agreed with Mr Latter, and asked leave to withdraw his motion, which was granted, it being understood that a plan of the new proposed boundaries of the District should be prepared, and Mr Bradley ehould give notice ol motion for its adoption at the next general meeting. After the transection of some routine business, the meeting adjourned.
