The telegram Kent by the Premier on behalf of tho Ministry to Mr Gladstone, congratulating him on his victory was •discussed, several members objecting to tbe action taken by the Promier. The Wangnnwi Hospital Board Veiling Bill, and Palmerston North Courthouse Site Bill were read a second time. The Land Transfr-r Act Amendment Bill was furlher considered in Coinoiittee, and on Clause 13, raferring to registration of deeds, being struck out tbe Colonial Seoretsry moved tbat progresshe reported, ns the clause effected tbe policy of the Bill, and he wished to consider the position of the Bill. The Wellington Sanitation Loan Bill was committed, amended and reported. Jolt 29. The Colonial Secretary aead a telegraaa from Mr W. G. Rbind, Bank of New South Wales, complaining of a grosß inaccuracy in a return presented to the Council. Sir P. Buckley said the Government no doubt
knew that the return was inaccurate, and it would, with tbe Councils permission, be withdrawn. The Statutes Revision Committeo recommended that tba Teatamanj tary Restriction Bill be not allowed to prooeed. .. Mr Stewart moved—" That all wills which have been proved in District Courts and records of all letters of administration granted in roch courts be transferred for safe custody and couveniencp of refprpnee to the principal Supremo Court officejn the provincial distriot in which euch wills have been proved and letters of administration have been granted, and that the Government take the necessary steps to give.effectsto this resolution." Tho Waikouaiti Reserves Bill was read a first time.
The Wangnnui Hospital Board Vesting Bill/and Palmerston North Courthouse Site Sale Bi'l passed through Committee without amendment, were so reported and passed their fioal stages. The Land Transfer Aci Amendment Bill was again aommitted, and as certain amendments which were being prepared by tbe Colonial Secretary were not ready, progress was reported.. The Wellington Sanitation Loan Bill was passed.
