LITTLE RIVER ROAD BOARD.
Ordinary meeting held Feb. 2nd. Present—Messrs W. Coop (Chairman), J. H. Parkinson, and Heniy White. Correspondence was read: From the Commissioner Crown Lands, intimating that a title will be prepared to reserve 35, part of original reserve 222. From the Christchurch Finanoe Company, stating that they will require the use of the tram-line on the road diversion through K.S. 4193, for about twelve raonthß. Tho Board consider this satisfactory. From Mr J. S. Williams, enclosing voucher for amount paid to Mr W. Joblin. From Mr R. Allan, Btating that the land for which Mr Wood is rated is not the property of Mr Wood,and suggesting that the Official Assignee may be asked for rates thereon ; but that Mr R. Latter is now the owner. It was resolved that the Official Assignee be asked to pay the rates due on this land. From Messrs Duncan, Cotterill and Martin, advice as to tbe Board's liability for the maintenance of some roads and bridges. The Clerk was authorised to remove a bridge in McQueen's Valley, and in lieu therefore to substitute a ford, and also the Clerk was instructed to have any repairs urgently needed to bridges effected without waiting a meeting of tbe Board. Resolved that tenders be invited to cart about 250 yards of shingle on part of Gebhie's Valley road. After passing accounts for payment, the Board adjourned.
