TENNIS
The Maniototo Handicap Tournament was held on Saturday last on the Omakau and Matakanui courts when over 130 players took part Cold southerly weather prevailed throughout the day, greatly lowering the standard of play. Though several of the more experienced players produced their usual sound game the Vincent representatives returned home empty handed but by no means in disgrace.. Mrs .Sutton and Miss Keddell were perhaps unfortunate to be beaten by two pointsin the final of the Ladies' Doubles, while partnered with S. R. Egan in the Mixed Doubles, Mrs Sutton again showed good form reaching the semi-Jfmal which proved one of the best matches of the tournament. The following are the winners of the various events: Ladies'"Singles—Miss J. Morgan: Men's Singles—Lester Harvey; I Ladies' Doubles—Mrs and Miss N Duggan; Men's Doubles—R. Haig and L. Harvey; Combines—Miss G. Harvey and S. Leask. Alexandra A 2 played Tarras A at Tarras on Saturday last and proved little match for the home team, losing by 14 to 2.
