DULL AND COOL The weather to-day was dull anti temperatures moderate. There was a light southe-ast breeze. Readings taken this morning were as follow, with those at 9 o’clock yes. terday morning in parentheses: Maximum temperature 68.4 (66.0), minimum 46.2 (43.4), earth 61.1 (63.5), barometer 29.84 (29.84).
There was no sunshine on Friday, for Saturday 9.9 hours were registered, and for yesterday 5.1 hours.
FINE CONDITIONS EXPECTED (P.A.) ' WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, . at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather: General situation: An anti-cyclone extends over New Zealand from the central Tasman Sea. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru to midnight to-morrow is: Light to moderate variable winds; weather fine, with slight inland frosts to-night, but day temperatures mild. Outlook for 'Wednesday: Fine.
