WRONG PAPERS
ACCOUNTANCY EXAMINATIONS ! (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 21. Through a printer’s error, some of ! the accountancy students who sat the bookkeeping Stage 2 examination conducted by the University of New Zealand last week received only half the questions in the first paper. Some of the A papers contained a sheet from the B paper to be sat a few days later. The original B paper could not then be used and another paper intended for students on a slightly different syllabus was substituted. The total number of papers affected throughout New Zealand is thought to be 40, but all students sitting paper B were affected by the substitution of another paper. When one of the students sitting the first paper last Tuesday showed his paper to the room supervisor, the head supervisor at Canterbury University College (Dr. R. Winterbourn) was informed. Dr. Winterbourn telephoned the office of the University of New Zealand in Wellington, and inquiries were made at all examination centres. Several complaints have been made to the secretary of the Christchurch Accountant Students’ Society (Mr M. Good), who said that his executive would consider the matter.
