WOMEN’S DIVISION
RAKAIA BRANCH Mrs Shellock, vice-president, presided over a good attenadnce of members at the monthly meeting of the Rakaia branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers. One new member was welcomed. A motion of sympathy was passed to Mrs E. M. Duncan, in the death of her mother. During the month, Federateg Farmers, and the Young Farmers, with their wives and families, were entertained by members at an evening , in St. Mark’s Hall. The resignation of Mrs A. M. Duncan was accepted with regret. Mrs Hurst gave a most interesting demonstration on the making of mops and mats. The liotessess were Mesdames Harrison, Richards and Miss Swaine. Competition results were: —Covered coat hanger, Mrs Hamilton 1, Mrs Wells 2, Mrs Hurst 3; savoury water biscuits, Mrs Shellock 1; bloom, Mrs Stewart 1, Mrs Johnson 2, Mrs Hollis 3; spike, Mrs Johnson 1, Mrs Fletcher 2; vase of flowers, Mrs W. Harrison 1, Mrs Hollis 2, Mrs Stubbs 3.
