The Gurkha unit comprises fullytrained infantrymen at present training as engineers. * • The Wiltshire Regiment battalion advance echelon arrived in Malaya k some weeks ago. It will rejoin the remainder of the battalion now en route to Hong Kong. The armoured car squadron will be drawn from the Fourth Hussars. , Headquarters stated that the withdrawal of these units from 4 Malaya would not be to the detrimenuot the “Briggs plan” to subdue Communists terrorism in Malaya.—Reuter.
